When is the best time to go

Skypark is open all year round. In summer, it blooms in its full glory: a flight into the gorge is refreshing, and from the heights you can see green forests, rocks and mountains. However, during this period there are a lot of people due to the tourist season, and this can spoil the impression. If you do decide to visit in summer, here’s a tip: when visiting the bridge, go early in the morning, as the bridge is not wide and not a lot of people will fit there. In winter, the attractions are closed in case of snowfall or strong winds. However, this doesn't mean you shouldn't come here in the cold season: the park transforms into a winter fairy tale against the backdrop of snow-covered forests and slopes. Take gloves and wear comfortable, non-slip shoes. A trip in the fall or spring is ideal - there are few people and the weather is mild.

History

Skypark opened in July 2014 and has become one of the most popular places for extreme entertainment in Russia. It was created by New Zealand inventor A.J. Hackett, who became famous for his invention - bungee jumping, or jumping on an elastic band. A.J. Hackett was fascinated by an unusual ritual practiced by Australian islanders. In the 1980s, he learned that the locals jumped from wooden towers by tying vines to their feet. This ritual was considered important to produce a bountiful harvest. Although he was not much interested in farming, he was more excited by the feeling of freedom and flight that came from jumping. Inspired by these traditions, the athlete decided to improve his hobby by creating a strong rope suitable for such tests. With the help of scientists and engineers, a mathematical formula was developed to make a special rubber, which later became the basis for bungee jumping. After that, the athlete dared to jump more than once - from cable cars, helicopters, skyscrapers, bridges and even the Eiffel Tower.

Extreme sport around the world

Over time, A.J. Hackett has continued to expand his extreme sports park empire by creating new rides in different countries:

  • U.S.
  • China
  • Mexico
  • New Zealand
  • Singapore His projects have become landmarks and the concept of bungee jumping has gained international recognition.

Uniqueness and care for nature

When Hackett decided to build the first extreme park in Russia, he promised that the construction process would not harm nature. Special care was taken to preserve relict forests with boxwood, jasmine and rhododendron, as well as the river mouth. As a result, Skypark has become not only a unique attraction for fans of extreme sports, but also an example of how to combine exciting entertainment with a responsible attitude to ecology. Now more than 10 years old, Skypark remains open to this day for those wishing to engage in extreme or active recreation with access to the outdoors.
