Merab Amzoevi

Merab was destined to become a musician from an early age. But he resisted it for a long time. His path to success was anything but smooth, working as a delivery guy and a card dealer at a casino before finally deciding to take up music at the age of 28. He shot to fame on social media, where videos featuring his songs would rack of millions of views.

Merab’s first taste of fame came from busking on the streets and performing in restaurants. But his career really too off after he took part in the shows The X Factor and Georgian Idol. This is when shorts featuring his songs started to gain millions of views on social media. His touring schedule last year was brutal, taking him to major cities across Russia and around the world – from Krasnoyarsk and Moscow to Chicago and Los Angeles. Now it’s Sochi’s turn!

On 16 April Merab Amzoevi will take the stage at the Boomerang Casino. The evening will feature covers and original songs in various languages, including Georgian, English, French, Italian, and Spanish. His unique performances have earned him the nicknames “The Velvet Voice of Georgia,” “The Georgian Diamond,” and “The Georgian Celentano.”
