Sochi Park

Article

Sochi Park is the most engaging and enjoyable destination on the Krasnodar Riviera.

Sochi Park is Russia’s largest themed entertainment park, widely regarded as the “Russian Disneyland.” It is a unique space where cutting-edge technology meets the warm, enchanting atmosphere of traditional Russian folk tales. Every year, hundreds of thousands of visitors come here to experience unforgettable emotions and immerse themselves in a thrilling world of fantasy and adventure.

Address: 21 Olimpiyskiy Prospekt, Sirius Urban Settlement.

Origins and Development of Sochi Park

Sochi Park began operating in a trial mode during the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, serving as a temporary leisure and entertainment venue for athletes, delegations, and spectators. Within this short period, it welcomed approximately 140,000 visitors. The park officially opened to the general public on June 1, 2014, with its grand opening ceremony held on June 28. The event was celebrated with a large-scale performance by the world-famous Cirque du Soleil— a show titled “A Futuristic Tale,” inspired by Russian mythology.

During its first year of operation, the park actively expanded its range of attractions. On September 18, the 65-meter free-fall tower Firebird opened to the public, followed by the launch of Zmey Gorynych—Russia’s fastest roller coaster at the time—on November 1. Zmey Gorynych quickly became one of the park’s signature attractions.

Total investment in the project exceeded 10 billion rubles. Spanning an area of 20.5 hectares, Sochi Park was designed and engineered by a team of both Russian architects and engineers, supported by international consultants specializing in theme park development and leisure infrastructure.

Thematic Zones of Sochi Park

Sochi Park is divided into six unique thematic zones, each immersing guests in its own narrative world through distinctive architecture, attractions, and ambiance.

Alley of Lights The park’s central promenade, recreating the vibrant atmosphere of a traditional Russian town fairground. By day, it bustles with festive energy; by night, illuminated facades come alive with dynamic lighting, casting a truly magical spell over visitors.

Eco-Village A tranquil and harmonious area where guests can experience the rhythms of traditional rural life. The zone features a petting zoo with domestic animals and thematic pavilions dedicated to nature and environmental education.

Realm of Science and Fantasy A futuristic zone that transports guests into a world of advanced technology, interactive exhibits, and educational attractions—where scientific discovery blends seamlessly with imagination.

Enchanted Forest A mystical realm inspired by Russian folklore, steeped in an aura of mystery. This zone is inhabited by legendary creatures such as Baba Yaga, Leshy, Kikimora, and other magical beings from Slavic mythology.

Land of Bogatyrs Dedicated to the era of Ancient Rus, this zone echoes the architectural styles of medieval Russia. Its attractions invite guests to step into the role of a legendary bogatyr—defending the homeland with strength and honor.

Sea of Adventures A pirate-themed bay brimming with adrenaline and water-based thrills. The entire zone is infused with the spirit of seafaring adventures, hidden treasures, and distant islands—reflected in its design and attractions, many of which incorporate water elements.
